Windy City Woodworks was founded with the belief that functional tools can also be extremely beautiful. It began with making a pair of speakers and then an entertainment center. I then realized that I needed an old-fashioned workbench. A couple of nightstands were made to put in the bedroom.

Then I discovered turning. I began making kit pens and peppermills and selling them at Craft Shows. I started making woodworking mallets which are now being sold at www.thebestthings.com but are also available here.

About two years ago, I discovered knife making. I saw a knife made by David Broadwell and I was changed forever. I didn't realize that you could make a piece of art that was also a knife. Before this, a knife was just a knife. I now try to make knives that, while extremely functional, they are also beautiful as well.

Currently I make things only part time but my goal is to one day make things in my workshop full time. I say "make things" because it doesn't matter to me what I am making as long as I came up with the idea and then can bring it into reality.
